With the bars of Ermita seemingly dropping like flies, the Fly the Bus schedule servicing Manila – Angeles – Manila (and Subic) has become a little more complicated.
So, lets recap. The Swagman Hotel is now either closed and, or under renovation, which moved Fly the Bus to the iconic Southern Cross Hotel. Well after years of neglect the Southern Cross Hotel closed its doors at the start of October, and now the last remaining Aussie RestoBar Slouch Hat (opposite Southern Cross) is where you can get the bus from Ermita to Angeles City.
The daily schedule from Angeles – Manila – Angeles can be found here:
Angeles to Manila
8 am – 12 noon – 3 pm
Manila to Angeles
11.30am – 3.30pm – 8.30pm
The price remains the same at 600 PHP, although on the 3 pm Angeles to Manila trip it is apparently 800 PHP (unless I was just ripped off that day).
Angeles – Subic Bay – Angeles remains mostly unchanged with the bus still leaving and departing from Brassed Knob (located next to ABC Hotel) on fields avenue.
Angeles – Subic – Angeles Schedule is as follows:
Angeles to Subic
Subic to Angeles
You can check the Fly The Bus website here and we suggest calling them prior to booking (as the service is known to leave early).
There are still hawkers hanging around in Ermita offering taxi rides from Ermita to Angeles who will ask for 4k upwards, although if you “negotiate” with GrabTaxi after making your booking, you might get as little as 2, 500 PHP, although that falls down to you and your drivers negotiating skills.
Thankfully the increase in flights going to and from Clark International Airport (and the low prices) is making a hellish journey to Manila a lot less necessary, and long may that continue.
Please contact us to let us know your experiences with Fly The Bus, or indeed if the service is still continuing as advertised.
